^^^ That's not the way to use this then, is it? We want
(status & ~PCIE_CORE_CTRL_PLC1_FTS_MASK) | ...
Fortunately the lowest 8 bits default to 0, and the highest 8 bits are
for 8GT/s operation (not used).
This is already upstream, so I guess we need a follow-up.
