pd6729: infinite eventloop in interrupt

I just installed the debian pre-compiled 2.6.11 kernel on my Gateway 2000 
Solo laptop. I am getting a streem of messages that say "pd6729: infinite 
eventloop in interrupt".

I created the file /etc/pcmcia.conf and added the line:
PCIC_OPTS="irq_mode=0"

But that did not help. I captured the output from lspci -v and grepped 
/var/log/messages for pd6729.  This output is below:

Grepping the log produced these 2 lines:
