cs: pcmcia_socket0: unable to apply power problem

Hi,

I got an old laptop, Compaq Armada 1750 and installed Ubuntu Breezy ( 
with kernel 2.6.12-10-686) on it. 
If I install my SMC2635W PCMCIA card in, the kernel says the familiar
cs: pcmcia_socket0: unable to apply power
error.
The laptop seems to have the TI PCI1225 bridge.
