I did't include all the messages since that would be a lot.
The bootlog says about pcmcia:

Nothting about cardmgr since at boottime I don't have the card in the
socket.
All other pcmcia cards work (tested) flawlessly. I switched to kernel
2.6.8.

The other module, cardmanager is complaining about is also not on my
system or in /usr/src/linux-2.6.*/*. I've got mtd installed with all the
standards like mtd_ram.
