I applied patches 1 thru 11 so we get some traction.

Patch 12 would be nice to have finished soon because it is now
a prerequisite for the STB pin controller which Andrea is working
on.

If it's not serious semantic problems I would like us to fix up any snags
in-tree so we don't drag this out.
