For what it's worth the GX6250 on my Renesas board appears to behave
the same way. I Used a different branch, but applied the patches to
support the BVNC. I then tweaked it for my Renesas hardware. I ran
vkd3d-gears, and I get several frames before it glitched out and
reappeared.
