This isn't wrong, but it is overly complicated.  I'd recommend either:
     ret = kvm_vgic_map_phys_irq(vcpu, irq->irq, phys_irq);
     return ret;
OR
     return kvm_vgic_map_phys_irq(vcpu, irq->irq, phys_irq);
