Not necessarily. I cannot think of a use case for it. Of course, we
could add it, if somebody wants it(?)...
As it is now, the generated "configure" script will have a line
LIBNL_GIT_SHA=xxx
which is also packed in our source tarballs. With this you can look at a
source tarball and know the origin commit. That is the use of the second
commit.
