ok, Now this gives us a basic understanding of whats going on.  

icalmemory_append_string() is used to append that, which basicaly uses
strcpy, so no escaping in there.  

icalparameter_as_ical_string_r() builds the surrounding string, its called
recursively.  

   

Its not clear to me where escaping should happen, or if it should be put in
in an escaped format?
