That looks like something for Chenthill. FWIW, it does not happen on my
system (Ubuntu 7.10, AMD64) with freeassociation libical trunk r846. No
valgrind reports for the source.

How embarrassing - you are right of course. Seems like I became to
dependent on -Wall -Werror, which was off when hacking on the test
program ;-}
