I could not infer from your e-mail whether you are testing
infrastructure or mesh mode.  If the latter, ethtool -S msh0 will give
you some additional counters on dropped frames:

# ethtool -S msh0
NIC statistics:
     drop_duplicate_bcast: 1
     drop_ttl_zero: 0
     drop_no_fwd_route: 0
     drop_no_buffers: 0
     fwded_unicast_cnt: 0
     fwded_bcast_cnt: 48
     drop_blind_table: 0
     tx_failed_cnt: 0
