The current location in the EXAMPLES section looks like an appropriate
place to clarify the specific example that uses multiple driver
interface types. I wouldn't mind duplicating that information into the
COMMAND LINE OPTIONS section for -D.

However, this is not a suitable patch for doing that.. The change should
be for wpa_supplicant/doc/docbook/wpa_supplicant.sgml and this would
need a proper commit message including the Signed-off-by: line as
described in the top level CONTRIBUTIONS file.
