On this board, I am running a minimal rootfs with no Network Manager.

In this case, the error shows as "reason=WRONG_KEY" and the IP address
is never retrieved by wlan0.

Reverting 144314eaa7e0 ("wpa_supplicant: Send EAPOL frames over
nl80211 where available") makes Wifi work again.
