broadcast ignoring connected network (maybe OT)

Hi Folks

In my attempt to build a wireless repeater with double radio cards I
observed a IMHO peculiar behaviour.

SALT# ifup wlan0
Starting wpa_supplicant.
Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
dhcpcd[17567]: version 5.2.11 starting
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: waiting for carrier
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: carrier acquired
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: broadcasting for a lease
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: offered 194.124.158.62 from 194.124.158.51
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: NAK: requested address not available from
192.168.217.1
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: broadcasting for a lease
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: offered 192.168.217.37 from 192.168.217.1
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: ignoring offer of 194.124.158.62 from 194.124.158.51
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: acknowledged 192.168.217.37 from 192.168.217.1
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: checking for 192.168.217.37
dhcpcd[17567]: wlan0: leased 192.168.217.37 for 43200 seconds
dhcpcd[17567]: forked to background, child pid 17605

This looks like dhcp using wlan0 does not get its address from the
associated network, see below, but from the second radio card in the
same housing, which is of course the strongest signal available, but of
a different ssid (and bssid).

SALT# wpa_cli status
Selected interface 'wlan0'
bssid=f8:1a:67:56:42:96
ssid=scoobly
id=0
mode=station
pairwise_cipher=CCMP
group_cipher=CCMP
key_mgmt=WPA2-PSK
wpa_state=COMPLETED
ip_address=192.168.217.37
address=00:0b:6b:33:1e:23

I believe this is a peculiar behaviour, as wlan0 is connected to
bssid=f8:1a:67:56:42:96

When I stop the dhcp server for the other ssid then everything works fine.

Thanks for ideas

Erich
