use of WLAN_EXT_CAPA8_OPMODE_NOTIF in hostapd/wpa_supplicant

But I guess for VHT(have not checked the code), it will be set appropriately.
Is my understanding  correct?

Err, it's a capability. pre-VHT APs wouldn't even know to check it, so this is pretty much irrelevant.
