You have certainly not picked the easiest target taken into account that
AOSP does not support IBSS in general, never mind IBSS with RSN, and as
such, many Android driver vendors do not focus on supporting that
either, I'd assume.

I've only tested RSN IBSS with ath9k. In general, I'd expect issues with
any driver where the vendor/maintainer does not explicitly support IBSS
with RSN.. With firmware-based designs, you'll get the extra concern of
making sure that the firmware supports this.
