installing hostapd on Overo Air Gumstix?

Hi all,

 

               Has anyone tried to install hostapd on overo air gumstix
before?

 

               Its package manager (opkg) fails with a rather generic error
("* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package hostapd.") and making it
manually is unsuccessful due to not finding cc. 

 

Before trying to resolve this, I thought to ask in the list if someone has
any experience on installing hostapd on the aforementioned (or any if that
matter) gumstix?
