Sounds like a driver issue to me and as such, better forum for
addressing this would be the linux-wireless mailing or something ath5k
specific.

(similar reply would also apply for the RaLink RT2561/RT61 comment in
the thread; though, the issue there is likely different and maybe
related to how the driver configures new keys)
