how to stop wpa_supplicant from retryng connection attempt in case of failure

Hi,

When wpa_supplicant fails to connect to an AP in the following two
cases, it keeps on trying forever -
1. When the passphrase is incorrect - 4WAY-Handshake fails.
2. When MAC ACL is set in the AP to disallow a particular station MAC
- Authentication fails

How can I stop supplicant to retry to connect to the same AP in the
above two cases?
