Hmm, strange - with 2.6.35 kernel I can't even start hostapd-0.6.10: Mode: IEEE 802.11g Channel: 11 Frequency: 2462 MHz Could not set channel for kernel driver wlan0: Unable to setup interface. I compiled ath5k with debugging info - and there is nothing useful in dmesg. It looks like trouble is in hostapd.
