Can't get WPA-PSK to work

Hi,

Until today I only had personal access to one machine with a net card that
supports WPA-PSK, so until today I could not compare.

I now have two machines, one using a Belkin usb adapter, the other an IBM
with built in wifi.

The IBM works on hostap as well as another (belkin) gateway using WPA-PSK on
either.

The BelkinUSB is the one that does not work on hostap using PSK but it does
work on the gateway.

So, something in hostap must dislike packets from the belkinUSB, even though
the belkinUSB works with PSK elsewhere.

I've tried the BelkinUSB in three different XP machines with the same
results. Of course I could just replace the USB adapter, but that not the
point, here is an oportunity to get to the bottom of a known problem.

What steps, tests or diags can I do to track down the cause?

cheers,
Jason.

This looks like hostapd is trying to send out the first message of the
WPA 4-Way Handshake, but does not receive any reply to this. Have you
tested this AP with any other client? It would be useful to know whether
the 1/4 msg is received by the client at all and if yes, whether the
client actually replies to it. Just based on the hostapd log alone, I
cannot tell what exactly is causing the problem since either of the
messages could be lost at many different location in the path.
