wpa supplicant 0.6.1 - problem

Hi,

 I have successfully enabled and connected to 3Com AP, using wpa
supplicant with the following config file.

# cat /tmp/wpa_supplicant.conf.tmp
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ap_scan=1

network={
                ssid="3Com"
                key_mgmt=NONE
                scan_ssid=1
}

I am using wpa_cli to know status, which is failing. I mean after
enabling wpa_cli, I am issuing "status" command. but wpa_cli is not
returning anything. Can any body tell me what is the reason for this?
