WLAN card in MASTER mode not generating any SIGNAL ???

hello, i am trying to use Wireless PRISM card as access point
everthing seem to look good (hostap and hostap_cs modules are loaded
just fine)...  the card signal light blinks periodically, but the
client machine just cannot see any signal and sync up ???  any clue
or pointer where i should be trying to find the problem ?
