Hi all!

Short description: I found an AP which I cannot associate to at all. All
other AP in my surroundings do work without problems.

hardware: ipw3945
software:
kernel 2.6.20
ipw3945 1.2.0 (latest)
(also tried with iwlwifi svn checkout)
wpa_supplicant 0.5.5
debian/sid

The AP is the only configured in the wpa_supplicant.conf file:
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=0
eapol_version=1
ap_scan=2	# also tried with =0 and =1

network={
	ssid="Hotel NoName"
	key_mgmt=NONE
	auth_alg=SHARED
	wep_key0="5570441089532"
	wep_tx_keyidx=0
	priority=3
}

With the same configuration (well with some more networks) y laptop
associates without problems to various AP (home, university, internet
cafe), only this one does not work atall.

It seems that it is associated:
wireless  unassociated  ESSID:"Hotel NoName"
          Mode:Managed  Frequency=2.437 GHz  Access Point: 00:04:0E:95:B3:37
          Bit Rate:0 kb/s   Tx-Power:16 dBm
          Retry limit:15   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:3535-3730-3434-3130-3839-3533-32   Security mode:restricted
          Power Management:off
          Link Quality:0  Signal level:0  Noise level:0
          Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:7   Missed beacon:0
But no conection, no response, and disassociating ...

I started wpa_supplicant with -dd and captured the output, it is
attached

Thanks a lot for any suggestions and ideas what else I could do to get
it working.

One more data point: With WindowsXP on my laptop and with my Palm T|X it
is working without any problems

Thanks a lot and all the best

Norbert

ARAGLIN (n. archaic)
A medieval practical joke played by young squires on a knight aspirant
the afternoon he is due to start his vigil. As the knight arrives at
the castle the squires attempt to raise the drawbridge very suddenly
as the knight and his charger step on to it.
