YEAH!  Thanks.   Using the -Dwext option to wpa_supplicant everything went
fine and I now have my PC linked to my network.

like that) you should probably be using the 'wext' wpa_supplicant
driver, otherwise if that doesn't seem to work try the 'ndiswrapper'
