Use ap_scan=2, use a driver that supports it, and read (and follow) the
sample config file's comments about it in the ap_scan section.

If your driver doesn't support ap_scan=2, then it would probably be a
good idea to turn the SSID back on, since turning it off doesn't
actually give you any security at all (the SSID is still given in
association frames (and sometimes certain probe requests/responses,
depending on the AP and its configuration)).
