I don't know what exactly you are referring to with "hostap" in this
context, but for me, it is the Host AP Linux driver and there is not
much point in trying to run that on FreeBSD.. Anyway, the current
FreeBSD includes support for similar function in number of wlan drivers
and it also includes wpa_supplicant and hostapd, so yes, it should be
possible to connect to WPA2 networks (assuming the driver you use
supports this).
