WPA: Failed to parse WPA IE from association info

Anyone know what the following debug message within a
"wpa_cli' session equates to after start
'wpa_supplicant'?

<2>Authentication with 00:00:00:00:00:00 timed out.
<2>Trying to associate with SSID 'WLANHQ'
<2>WPA: Failed to parse WPA IE from association info


I think the issue centers on ESSID Broadcast being
Disabled...not quite sure though -- anyway here's the
setup:

conf file -->

  ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
