receive custom IE in wpa_supplicant

I was able to make hostapd add a custom IE in beacon frames, I see the IE
pass over the net, but is there a way I can get that data in wpa_supplicant
code?
I'd like the AP to sponsor it's IP address to have the client change its
default route when doing handoff.
