Meaning of "Checking STA ... inactivity" and eap_reauth_period ...

Hi

I've 2 question about hostapd.

1. What is going on with the hostapd message:
Checking STA ... inactivity:
  Station has been active
What meens this message exactly? Will a client be disconnected in some case?

2. All my clients are disconnected every hour (and they reconnect again
but after trying 4 times)
It seems to be the eap_reauth_period of the config file which defaults
to 3600 seconds
What is the sense behind this reauthentication?
I've found the patch which was discussed but no info what this is ...
