Station firmware 1.7.4. vs. 1.8.4

I have seen similar issues with firmware version 1.8.4 when used in
master mode, no kernel panics though.

The bitrate of my IPW2915 STA was constantly dropping and eventually the
connection was dropped. The `iwevent` command on the HostAP showed lots
of dropped packets.

Once I downgraded to firmware version 1.7.4 everything started working
smoothly.

I use hostap-driver-0.4.4 along with hostapd-0.4.4 with WPA-PSK CCMP.
The STA uses ipw2200-1.0.6 + various fixes along with
wpa_supplicant-0.4.4.
