Hmmm.  None of the non-volatile firmwares I have on hand support 0x8008 
chips.  Since you don't have access to a Windows PC at the moment anyway, you 
might consider just extracting the volatile firmwares from the Intersil 
windows drivers and usint prism2_srec to load them into the card's volatile 
memory.  If you search the archives, you will find plenty of information on 
this.  I would grab the cvs version of hostap, though, since the extraction 
tolls have been improved.  If you have any trouble extracting the windows 
driver itself, let me know and I can send you the relevant file that you can 
then use to extract the firmwares.
