Do you have CONFIG_NET_WIRELESS defined in .config?
Do you have wireless_send_event in System.map?
What is the value of WIRELESS_EXT in include/linux/wireless.h in the
kernel tree?
Is KERNEL_PATH set correctly in the top-level Makefile of hostap?
