Firmware for SMC2632W card

I have an SMC2632W card with primary firmware 0.3.0 and station firmware 0.8.3.  I would like to upgrade the firmware version, but am having some trouble using the Intersil WinUpdate utility with the firmware files available at the NetGear site.

When I try to update the card on a Windows 98 workstation with the 1.4.9 firmware files, I get the following error:

"Error - Platform Incompatible.  Current card is platform 8002.  Image built for: 800e, 8015, 8019, 801d, 8024.  This file cannot be used."

Any suggestions on how to get a firmware upgrade to work on this particular card?  Thanks.
