hostap 0.1.2 w/Netgear MA401 (pcmcia)

I'm trying to use hostap to setup an access point with a pcmcia card.
Running tcpdump (and other apps) on wlan0, I am seeing frequent frame
duplication and corruption. Here is my current setup:

- RedHat Linux 8 with a 2.4.18 kernel

- hostap 0.1.2 (previously 0.0.4)

- Netgear MA401RA (pcmcia)
	NICID: id=0x800c v1.0.0 (PRISM II (2.5) PCMCIA (SST parallel
flash))
	PRIID: id=0x0015 v1.0.7
	STAID: id=0x001f v1.3.6 (station firmware)

I've also tried upgrading the MA401 to the following firmware:
	NICID: id=0x800c v1.0.0 (PRISM II (2.5) PCMCIA (SST parallel
flash))
	PRIID: id=0x0015 v1.1.4
	STAID: id=0x001f v1.7.4 (station firmware)

Any suggestions appreciated.
