Hi Dinesh

Try checking in the file include/linux/version.h
The UTS_RELEASE could be defined to a name other than the kernel for which
it is being compiled. For eg. 2.4.18-14bkup. Change this to the kernel
version and then compile ur code. Should solve ur problem

Regards
Aditya

Subject: problems with make install_pccard

Hi
I am using a D-link 650 with a laptop running redhat8
while installing hostap i faced the following problem
after doing "make pccard" when i did "make install_pccard" i got the
following error
[root at localhost hostap-2002-10-12]# make install_pccard
Module installation directory not valid: '/lib/modules/2.4.18-14 '
Most probable cause for this is modified kernel headers.
You will need to install module file (driver/modules/hostap_*.o) manually.
make: *** [install_check] Error 1
can any1 help
thanxs a bunch
Dinesh
