Hi Folks,

I do have a Compaq WL100 card I would like to use in my RedHat 8.0 based
Notebook.

I did use the current CVS-Snapshot from the Server, which is running
perfectly in a Desktop-PC using a WL200 card.

When inserting the WL100 into the Notebook I do get the following
error in /var/log/messages:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dec 13 10:05:31 porty cardmgr[2262]: executing: 'insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20/pcmcia/hostap_cs.o'

Dec 13 10:05:32 porty cardmgr[2262]: executing: './network start wlan0'
Dec 13 10:05:32 porty kernel: hostap_cs: card initialization timed out
Dec 13 10:05:32 porty kernel: hostap_cs: Initialization failed
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seems like the driver can't initilize the card.

iwconfig wlan0 produced the following output:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

          Mode:Master Tx-Power:15 dBm

ifconfig wlan0 produced the following output:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

          BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1

So the driver doesn't even recognize the Cards MAC-Adress...hmmm....

Thanks for your help....Carsten
