The above is a big clue.  It says you're trying to download to the root 
directory of your filesystem, which would typically fail if you're not 
running as root.  I assume that's not what you want.  Run with --verbose 
and look at the option values printed at the beginning of the output. 
If you haven't set --output, it will use the working directory.
