ubuntu - using rtmdump / setup web pvr

hi, sorry for (probably) being a bit thick but there are two things i'm 
having a problem with when running get_iplayer on lucid (i've installed 
v2.78 from launchpad):

1. using rtmpdump
i downloaded the rtmpdump v2.3 tarball and compiled it (in directory 
/media/data/downloads/rtmpdump-2.3) and have tried using
~$ get_iplayer --flvstreamer /media/data/downloads/rtmpdump-2.3/rtmpdump
to make get_iplayer use it but it appears to still be using flvstreamer 
since when downloading i get:

WARNING: Your version of flvstreamer/rtmpdump does not support SWF

2. setup web pvr
i basically haven't got a clue how to get this running in ubuntu, anyone 
able to provide instructions?
