Colorado has some very large resorts, and they don't get this cold.
Steamboat, Vail, and Snowmass should all be able to keep this group
quite happy for days. Varied terrain at all of them.<br>

That is the biggest difference I've heard between here and Europe. Our<br>
hills tend to be much smaller, meaning there are 5 to 15 chairs and that's<br>
all there is at that resort.<br>

It also depends on your skill level too. Panorama is great for those who<br>
have ski'd or boarded a bit but do mostly green or blue runs but may get out<br>
on a black run by the end of the week (120 trails they say on their site).<br>
<br>
Here are some stats:<br>
Panorama 9 lifts, 120 runs, 75% green/blue<br>
Kimberly 5 lifts, 80 runs, 62% green/blue<br>
Fernie 9 lifts, 118 runs, 70% green/blue<br>
Kicking Horse 5 lifts, 106 runs, 40% green/blue<br>
Lake Louise 6 lifts, 139 runs, 70% green/blue<br>
Sunshine Village 10 lifts, 107 runs, 75% green/blue<br>
Castle Mountain 4 lifts, 78 runs, 55% green/blue<br>

Of those I've been to Kicking Horse, Lake Louise, Sunshine, and Castle. My<br>
personal favs are Castle and Kicking Horse and the chutes on goats eye<br>
mountain at Sunshine.<br>
<br>
Lake Louise doesn't have ski-out access, closest reasonable hotels to that<br>
and Sunshine are in Canmore from about $350 to $550 per night for 3 bedroom.<br>
<br>
Kicking Horse (in Golden BC) has 3 bedroom town homes for up to 8 people for<br>
$400 per night.<br>
<br>
Panorama offers 2 bedroom from around $342 to 3 bedroom for $422 per night<br>
<br>
Fernie offers a 5 bedroom chalet (10 minute walk to the slopes) for $479 -<br>
$767 per night, or 3 bedroom condos for $527 (ski out).<br>
<br>
In BC you have to pay an additional 6% provicial tax on top of the hotel and<br>
federal sales taxes.<br>
