Ridiculously convenient for the conference facility.

A moderately nice walk that would take people through the centre of the
city, but the college building itself isn't terribly attractive.

The walk includes crossing a fairly large railway bridge, so it's a bit
of effort. Busses run about every 10 minutes during the day, less often
at night.

It's a very nice hotel.

"Outskirts" is somewhat pushing it. Taxis would be the only option here.

Never stayed there.

About 5 minutes closer to town than Homerton, there's a Travelodge hotel
(www.travelodge.co.uk, the Cambridge Central one) - I'm not sure why
they didn't appear on the list. The Crowne Plaza in Cambridge is about 5
minutes walk from the University Arms, but I'm not sure what the prices
are like.
