Password / Authgroup error

Does the problem go away when using a password that doesn't contain '!'?

Alternatively: if the server was picking up the wrong authgroup, is
that consistent with the symptoms you see?  The problem we saw earlier
was that the server wants a separate request for changing groups in
XML POST mode.  Upon receipt of this request it will send a brand new
form (with a different <opaque> section) to the client.  Posting the
authgroup + login in a single request may cause the server to use an
incorrect authgroup.
