Ok, that is definitely not going to work.  Can you try the following:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mtmiller/openconnect
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

and you should see openconnect being upgraded.

Now openconnect --version should look like this:

OpenConnect version v4.05
Using GnuTLS. Features present: PKCS#11, DTLS (using OpenSSL)

If that all works as I've described, try connecting with your pkcs11
credentials again and let us know if it works.
