make install files going to root?

Hello.  I did a git on the latest OpenConnect today and compiled it
successfully on a 64-bit Centos 5.x system.  OpenConnect works great
with our Cisco SSL VPN, though there is one issue.  After installing
it I noticed that the root partition on our server is now full of
directories that were not there before.  Any ideas about this?  Here
are the steps that I followed to compile and install along with a
snapshot of the root partition.

1. git clone git://git.infradead.org/users/dwmw2/openconnect.git
2. cd openconnect
3. ./autogen.sh
4. ./configure
5. make -j12
6. sudo make install
