What's the problem with the -O3 & -Os? If the user uses
CONFIG_CC_OPTIMIZE_FOR_PERFORMANCE_O3 that will cause bad performance
for memcpy?
Seems asm version is more compatible?

How about using __attribute__((optimize("-O2"))) here to replace your
previous "#ifdef CONFIG_CC_OPTIMIZE_FOR_PERFORMANCE"?
