No need to set mux_state to NULL, as mux_state is not used below.

However, shouldn't you propagate all errors up?
If the mux is not present, mux_state should already be NULL,
i.e. IS_ERR(mux_state) would be false.

This causes a crash on R-Car Gen3 and RZ/Five, as mux_state_select()
doesn't handle NULL pointers gracefully yet.

Adding a check like

fixes the issue.
