I fear that it won't work, but you may want to try to "block" snd-pcaudiocf
from loading (e.g. by "mv snd-pdaudiocf.ko __snd-pdaudiocf.ko) -- this
kernel module is for a soundcard and likely won't be able to connect to
the GSM network.

PS: 2.6.20-kernels won't load snd-pdaudiocf for this card any more
