execute script after insertinga pcmcia card

Hi,

i want to start a script when a umts/gprs modem is inserted. It is detected as a ttySX device.  The card needs a timeout before it is aible to receive any at commands.
The script does also contain some environment variables which should be set after inserting the card.
How can i do this ?
