I can find "failed to load transform for AES" in airo.c, but the code is
not PCMCIA specific. airo.c is also a PCI driver.

Then it shouldn't be a hard dependency.
I think the issue has nothing to do with PCMCIA. If you have further
comments, they should probably be sent to netdev at vger.kernel.org
