sysfsutils releases seem to happen _very_ rarely these days, and the
breakage happens very subtly: sysfs_write_attribute() returns 0, but nothing
actually got written to a file. Passing "<none>" here instead of "" in the
show method doesn't hurt much, so I thought we could consider working around
that specific userspace bug... even though I dislike it somewhat, too...

No, not a single (pcmcia-patched) kernel worked OK with current sysfsutils.
So, feel free to drop it if you consider it the wrong thing to do.
